Rustam Yakhikhanov's paintings are dedicated to national cultural and traditional motifs, landscapes of his native land, and are painted in bright ethnic tones.
These are individuals who have made their place in history: heroes, leaders of uprisings, commanders of military units, or lone individuals—all those who stood up for their people.
This is a art project dedicated to the tragic events in the history of the Chechen and Ingush peoples, who were forcibly evicted from their homes in February 1944 and transported to Central Asia without the right to return.
A project in which the art of realism, so familiar and, at first glance, understandable to any viewer, turns out to be not a concept of form, but “a concept of the inner essence of life and art about life.” The artist shows a complicated and true reality through the unusual representation of ordinary things and gives each viewer a rare opportunity to experience the precious feeling of life.

The jugs from the art project “Breath of Life,” which have escaped the confines of the canvas, play out their everyday scenes in real time: this original solution by the artist makes the exhibition space more voluminous, allowing objects to speak not only in the two-dimensional space of the painting, but also transforming them into participants in our real life in the moment.
